In July 2012, we unveiled an ambitious new project: develop an exceptional resin statue with famous illustrator Aleksi Briclot. The idea was to create a product outside any known license or universe, a statue so beautiful and well designed that collectors would love it without the supporting franchise.
With his gorgeous drawing style, Aleksi created this wonderful organic/mechanical female warrior. Azzar’Hi has a unique cachet and we used all our skills to stick to Aleksi’s touch while going 3D!
The paint job emphasises the contrasts and the different textures created by the sculptor. The final result is stunning. As we started to work on this phase, Aleksi specified he wanted the statue to look old and used, ta have a story to tell. Like it would be some kind of artefact to be passed on, and not some brand new object which just came out from the plant!
It took us three years to be ready to launch Azzar’hi and now we’re in final phase. We worked hard with Aleksi Briclot to be able to show a painted prototype, and we did it last year. Now, time has come to green light the production process.
To achieve this, we need to ask the fans for their help. We really want to offer something different from what they’ve already seen. We need support from everybody, including both Tsume’s and Aleksi Briclot’s fans.
We are creating a Kickstarter campaign! The funds will be used to cover the production costs (and the crowdfunding costs too). We thought of a line of rewards for the pledgers so that everyone can help you whether they can afford the statue or not. We are really counting on you for this project: it is a pure art project! We do hope the figure market is mature enough to see these kind of pieces arise.
