Founder of Creative Beast Studio
David Silva
As an only-child in a single parent home, it didn’t take long for David Silva to find his two passions in life- art and toys. Drawing everything from dinosaurs to transforming robots David found inspiration in toys, cartoons, and comic books. A few decades later not much has changed.
After completing high school in the small town of Crowley, Texas, David attended Savannah College of Art And Design in 1998 majoring in Sequential Art. A huge fan of comic books such as Spawn and Superman, David was certain he wanted to draw comic books for a living. However one class in particular, Conceptual Illustration, changed everything.
David found concept design to be much more appropriate to his talents and interests and he began focusing on that path. Concept design also allowed David to develop his sculpting skills which seemed trivial at the time, but would become very important later. After completing his Sequential Art studies and also finishing an additional major in Illustration, David graduated from SCAD in the summer of 2003 with two BFA’s.
Three weeks later he began his first professional design assignment for McFarlane which just happened to be…transforming robots.
After working about eighteen months as a full-time freelance designer for McFarlane toys (on projects such as Spawn, Dragons, and The Simpsons), David moved to New Jersey in 2005 to be closer to the McFarlane Toys headquarters in Bloomingdale, NJ. After three months of working from home, David was asked to help out in the sculpting department and was eventually hired on as a full time sculptor. During his three and half years sculpting at McFarlane Toys, David showed a particular interest in the animal inspired characters and became a major contributor to many of the company’s in-house fantasy lines. Most notable is his extensive work on the McFarlane’s Dragons line.
Unfortunately, in 2007 and 2008 many of McFarlane’s in-house fantasy lines were put on hold and eventually canceled. David felt it was time to move on and see what else the toy industry had to offer. For the following year and half, David would work exclusively for Hasbro both from home and at their main facility in Pawtucket, Rhode Island contributing to lines such as Star Wars, GI Joe, Spiderman, and Jurassic Park.
Then in early 2010, a new opportunity came along from NECA, (National Entertainment Collectibles Association) as an in-house sculptor. The New Jersey based NECA has been a good fit for David and he has spent his time there working on various collector based toy lines including Predator, Aliens, Terminator 2 and Pacific Rim.
In addition to his full-time sculpting duties at NECA, David had also been creating his own line of action figures and resin model kits, focusing mainly on dinosaurs and prehistoric animals, since Oct. 2009 as Creative Beast Studio. David left NECA in April of 2021 to to work at Creative Beast Studio full time.
David currently resides in Hackensack, NJ and still can’t get enough of toys, dinosaurs, and transforming robots.
Designer/Sculptor
Ross Persichetti
Ross Persichetti graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design in 2022, majoring in Illustration with minors in Drawing, Sequential Art, and Design for 3D Action Figures. His aspirations were initially set for the video game industry, but pivoted once rediscovering his passion for action figures... and realizing he doesn’t even play video games. While at SCAD, Ross enrolled in comparative anatomy and concept creature design courses, where he sculpted clay maquettes, deconstructed animal muscular systems and even studied at the Paris National Museum of Natural History. These were the baby steps that would lead him to Creative Beast Studio. As part of the Action Figure program at SCAD, Ross was required to learn Zbrush (a digital sculpting software). What was merely a task to complete his degree, ultimately became the launching point of his career. In that sculpting class, he was sought out by Hasbro for work right out of school. Ross spent a year on the inside learning industry methods and skills on brands like Transformers, Star Wars, Marvel and G.I. Joe. Meanwhile, Ross was also sharpening his illustration skills with Renegade Game Studios and scribbling the first ideas of Cyberzoic as an intern for Creative Beast Studio. Once his year at Hasbro was up, Ross was a full-time freelance artist equipped with skills in design, illustration, sculpting, and engineering with a serious passion for animals and creatures alike. He has since found his place at Creative Beast Studio working on the coolest prehistoric figures on the planet, living the dream of making toys for a living.
Sculptor/Designer/Harbinger of Chaos
Chris 'Chaotic' Albers
Chris “Chaotic” Albers started as a college football athlete working on a Bachelor in BioChemistry with a minor in Physics. After a Hyena attack in Spring Tx, Chris’s life took a drastic turn. He developed a successful fitness company while in Utah and transitioned it to his childhood city north of Houston Texas. After some life lessons and many hardships, Chris realized he wanted more out of life and started his artistic journey. Chris was introduced to Kris Pagne, Owner of Toy Thug, who saw potential in his sculpting skills and decided to fund his first statue kit. With these kits, Chris was able to create Divine Kaos Designs. It was during this time that Chris was able to push his artistic and sculpting skills further than ever before; creating highly detailed rings and other jewelry pieces. He built a huge love for entomology and learned how to cultivate and mount his own insects. This was the exploding factor that allowed Chris to pursue his dream of creating toys and highly detailed, realistic statues. As Chirs’s skills and following grew, so did his personal brand creating who we all know now as Chris “Chaotic” recognizing the chaos that has always surrounded him throughout his life was the true driving force in all his experiences and talents. With this came Chaotic statues of dragons, beast, and everything fantastical. Working on many creative works, board games, digital models, and statues. Although many great milestones were made, Chris realized he wasn't quite getting to where he wanted to be in the toy industry or even making his own figures. Looking at the toys and creatures he loved, he ultimately decided to reach out to David Silva in 2022. Chris has been happily causing Chaos at Creative Beast Studio ever since not only growing his artistic and sculpting skills, but as a person too!
