A French knight was a medieval noble title in France. Knighthood was established
by Louis VII in the 12th century to protect France from enemies. Western European
knights of the 15th century had heavy weapons. Those fully armored horsemen
participated in the Battle of Grunewald, the final stages of the Hundred Years' War,
and the Wars of the Roses in England.
