The Porsche 928 was unveiled in Geneva in March 1977. It replaced the 911 and was to share „
all earlier Porsches‘ qualities and performance,“ while complying with all conceivable future
government requirements. The United States, which took around fifty per cent of total Porsche
output, started selling the 928 in 1978 with a price tag of $26,000.
