In early 2024, a new version of The Red Death was announced as a "retailer-only" exclusive edition. This version swapped the red robes on the original for black soft goods, and the body colors were inverted (what was black became red and vice versa). Additionally, the large ebony clock had additional paint applications added to it, further highlighting some of the fine details in that larger diorama-style item. The "Black Robes" Masque of the Red Death is part of the "2024 4H Retailer Appreciation Wave" which is offered exclusively by the studio's worldwide network of retailer partners. The “Black Robes” Figure Obscura: Masque of the Red Death, from the Edgar Allan Poe short story of the same name, comes in a new edition with black robes replacing the previous red ones and a color palette on the zombie-like body that is inverted from the first release. He includes all the items available in the first release, including the large diorama-style clock and premium packaging with character-specific artwork. This figure is $69.99.
