Trailblazer這個詞可以直譯為開拓者，但這會與競爭者的開拓者重覆，所以考慮了開拓者的含義以及發射器所屬子系列的名字，暫時將其譯為拓荒者。
拓荒者是一款手動擊錘式上膛的發射器，採用8發彈輪載彈。
很多批評說它就是僵牛換皮，真是冤枉人家了，這是8發彈輪，不是5發，這點可以有效的提高副武器的載彈量，但這也增加了工藝要求，如果是印度阿三產的話，真不知道會故障到什麼地步。
拓荒者從頭到腳都沒有模組化設計，下端的與其說是戰術軌道軌，更認為它只是一個裝飾設計。不過從拓荒者的頂部設計來看，其實加導軌不是難事。
狂野系列的定位目前不知是什麼，可能系列名與旗下發射器的特點聯繫不大，目前就出了那麼2支!
